Introduction to icare

Background

icare provides insurance and care services to the businesses, people and communities of NSW. Whether a person is severely injured in the workplace or on NSW roads, icare supports their long-term care needs to improve quality of life, including helping people return to work.

icare provide workers compensation insurance to more than 329,000 public and private sector employers in NSW and their 3.2 million employees.

In partnership with Tyro Health, icare now supports straight-through electronic claims submission and next day payment for approved claims. Problematic claims, such as invalid claim numbers, can be identified in real time expediting the invoice process. Providers can self-check the status of invoices for greater transparency.

icare claims can be submitted electronically by partners through the Tyro Health SDK .Claim status and settlement details are provided by Tyro Health and can be obtained via a webhook set for in the claim payload or polled via an Invoice status API.
